​Chill on the Hill

As part of its commitment to involve youth in arts and cultural activities, the CVCA/Heyde Center provides an early introduction of children to the arts and culture through the offering of forty-five minute presentations of various arts and cultural activities at the Heyde Center during the summer. The target age group is 4 - 10 years of age. There is no cost to participate. Reservations not required, but we appreciate notification if bringing a large group.

DATES: July 10 - rug hooking; July 17 - Making Hand Made Paper; July 24 - Chalk Art; July 31 - Suminagashi (Paper Marbling); August 7 - Projects with Watercolor; August 14 - Sports Dance

The Swampers: The Farmer Feeds Them All

Jerry Way and The Swampers mark their 17th year by saluting Chippewa Valley farmers with original songs and stories written by Jerry Way. When Wisconsin became the 30th state in 1848, pioneer families had already begun homesteading farms in the Chippewa Valley - that essential agricultural work continues to this day.  The tools and methods are ever-evolving, but the mission remains the same—to feed the world.

"So You Think You Can Act" and More (ECCT)

Color My World (ECCT)  Monday to Friday, August 13 – 17 starting at 9 a.m. until  12 p.m.

A camp filled to the brim with color! Show off your art skills and act out stories like The Day the Crayons Quit. Ages 4-7.  Cost is $45 per child, but the CFAUSD offers one free class per student per summer. Information about signing up for the free class and other registration can be found on the Eau Claire Children Theater’s website www.ecct.org  Classes held at the Heyde Center for the Arts.

Playacting (ECCT) Monday to Friday, August 13 - 17 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

We’ll work together to create stage versions of our favorite fairytales, including dialogue, masks, and simple set pieces. Ages 4-7. Cost is $30 per child, but the CFAUSD offers one free class per student per summer. So You Think You Can Act (ECCT) Monday to Friday, August 13 – 17 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Think you’ve got what it takes to put on a show in a week? Present Pinocchio Friday August 17 at 1:30 p.m. Ages 8-14. Cost is $80 per child, but the CFAUSD offers one free class per student per summer.
