The Faces of Lake Wisconsin

The Faces of Lake Wisconsin is the new version of an ongoing project by director Valérie Lanciaux - an atypical and poetic documentary that seeks to learn more about southern Wisconsin through the voices and faces of the women who live there. The film brings together 17 women from 18 to 87 years old.

​The Music Man

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

"So You Think You Can Act" and More (ECCT)

Color My World (ECCT)  Monday to Friday, August 13 – 17 starting at 9 a.m. until  12 p.m.

A camp filled to the brim with color! Show off your art skills and act out stories like The Day the Crayons Quit. Ages 4-7.  Cost is $45 per child, but the CFAUSD offers one free class per student per summer. Information about signing up for the free class and other registration can be found on the Eau Claire Children Theater’s website www.ecct.org  Classes held at the Heyde Center for the Arts.

Playacting (ECCT) Monday to Friday, August 13 - 17 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

We’ll work together to create stage versions of our favorite fairytales, including dialogue, masks, and simple set pieces. Ages 4-7. Cost is $30 per child, but the CFAUSD offers one free class per student per summer. Ole Runs for Office

It’s time again when Muskrat Lodge 3412 elects officers and Ole has decided to throw his hat in the ring and run against longtime nemesis, Knut Knutson, lodge president for the past 20 years. Knutson, proprietor of Knutson’s Heating, Air Conditioning and Live Bait Shop is one of Potsdam’s “shakers and movers” and has been a thorn in Ole’s side since they were kids in school. Ole and Sven have already decided that they need to put together a sneaky, tough, and no holds barred campaign if Ole is ever going to ever have a chance of winning.

Hold the Lutefisk! it's Beginning to Smell a lot Like Christmas...

When you want an old-fashioned Christmas, you know who to turn to — the musical, merry, menopausal members of the Looney Lutherans! These warm and witty women have created a brand new show of family-friendly comedy skits and songs to help audiences enjoy the spirit of the season, and maybe even create a new holiday tradition to boot. The idea for the “Looney Lutherans” was cooked up in 2006 when the founding members were appearing in the cast of the hit musical CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES at the Plymouth Playhouse in Plymouth, MN.
